Dixie
is an 18 year old, 15.1 hand 1000 pound chestnut
QH mare. Her donor reports that she has a good
temperament, smart and respects her handler’s
space. She clips, bathes, cross ties, loads, is
good with children, quiet in her stall, good
with other horses, comes when called and can
catch in an open field.
She is good with the vet and farrier. She is
current on vaccinations, worming and dental
care. Her donor does note that she does
occasionally have slight lameness for the past
few years. She will pin her ears while
tightening her girth.
Dixie
currently is being ridden 3 days a week. She is
an ex Western Pleasure show horse and also
excels at team penning. Her donor feels she will
be well suited for English Pleasure, Trail
Riding, Low Level Jumping, working farm or
ranch, low level Dressage, Pony club or 4-H, a
lesson or school horse, lead line w/young child,
western riding or team penning.
The recommended level of experience of handler
on ground is beginner (with supervision) and
minimum level of rider is beginner (with
supervision).
Dixie sounds like she will make a very nice
horse for a lucky adopter! Please contact us if
you are interested in adopting Dixie. We do have
more information available to approved adopters!
Her donor will speak to approved adopters about
Dixie!
Adoption Fee: TBD

Dixie is very well trained. Her gaits are very
smooth and she is balanced on both leads. She

Worst
traits: She pins her ears while
girthing and she likes to be the “boss mare”.
