Don't necessarily need
another horse at the moment, but have an extra stall
and love to give?
How about
fostering? We need foster homes all over the United
States, especially on the east coast and in the
south. As a foster provider you will be expected to
provide a dry stall, two meals and daily turnout.
Depending on the physical condition of your foster
horse you may also need to provide veterinary and
dental care, as well as schedule a good farrier for
regular visits.
If you own horses now these are
things you are already doing! Adding a horse in
need to your barn should be easy! Remember that
horses in the BITS program are NOT rescues. These
horses have been the loving partners of horse
lovers, who are looking to provide the best
possible homes for their friends. The average time a
horse spends with a foster is 2-3 months and BITS
requires that all horses donated to the program have
a negative coggins and a health certificate.
